Uyo is a city and the state capital of Akwa Ibom, a state located in the coastal southern part of the Nigeria. According to the 2006 Nigerian Census, Uyo has about 500,000 inhabitants.. The National Museum of Colonial History is located at Wellington Bassey way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom. It was established in 1989. The museum is rich in ethnographic, history of state creation and collected items. The place also boasts of facilities like a museum kitchen complex, library, museum shop and museum education centre.  You will find various collections of cultural items, artifacts, relics, carvings and valuable antiques.

Visit The Unity Park Uyo

Uyo Indigenous and residents refer to it as Cenotaph, this is because it  honors fallen heroes and also serve as a public park. The park is located  at Udo Udoma Avenue, beside Akwa Ibom state house of assembly complex, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state. The best day to visit this park is on Saturday, that is if you want to participate in any of the activities.

Visit Godswill Akpabio International Stadium

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (formerly Akwa Ibom International Stadium) is an all-seater national sports stadium located in Uyo. The stadium serves for various social, cultural, and religious events. The contract for the construction of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium complex and Games Village was awarded in 2012 to Julius Berger and was completed in 2014. It contains 30,000 seaters..
