Taj Bistro Abuja

TAJ BISTRO:

Tajbistro.ng is a classy open kitchen bistro restaurant located in the heart of Abuja. I was recently invited for the TAJ Experience. This is a new unique experience holding on the 1st Sunday of every month to showcase exclusive off menu dishes and cocktails that will be available for one night only. A few in-house favorites will also be served.

FOOD
Puff puff drizzled in white chocolate (complimentary)
Beef and Chicken tacos (soft and hard shell) – N4,500
BBQ Chilli Whole baby Chicken with side – N10,000
Lemon Pepper Butter Sole Fish (with steam coconut rice and sautéed vegetables) – 10,500
TAJ Mixed Grill ( prepared table side lamb chops, steak filet and boneless chicken served with steamed coconut rice or mashed potatoes) – N13,500
Strawberry Daiquiri – N4,500

We started of with the puff puff, this was sweet, definitely different from the usual. We then had the beef and chicken tacos, this was tasty but we preferred the hard shell, there was just something about the crunch of hard shell.

For mains we had the Butter Sole Fish and coconut rice, this right here was the star! The fish was so tasty, well spiced, buttery and paired perfectly with the coconut rice. Loved the sautéed vegetables that was served with it. For the TAJ mixed grill we got to see the live cooking show of the meat, this was very entertaining. The boneless chicken was amazing! Definitely preferred this over the steak fillet which was a tad too salty. This platter was served with tasty mashed potatoes. We had the strawberry Daiquiri to go with our meals. This drink was very sweet and had a slight tart. For desserts we loved the cheesecake!

The ambiance is refreshing, loved the open kitchen, the open glass, the abundance of natural light and the neutral tone decor. The service was very pleasant, the staff were polite, one of the servers, Anita stood out.

Overall it was a lovely experience. The TAJ experience will be holding from 4pm to 11pm, again on the first Sunday of every month . Definitely RSVP early. I hear there’ll be free mimosas and fruit punch complementary starters
