Coco Loco Restaurant, Life Camp
COCO LOCO RESTAURANT:
Coco_locorestaurant, is new restaurant that serves affordable traditional food all the way from Jos. I was invited last week courtesy Abujafoodplug to check it out.
The decor of the space is so eye catching, colourful and very befitting for a traditional restaurant. I loved the raffia incorporation and colorful painting.
Food:
Turkey and Fries – N3,500
Pounded Yam + Dry Fish Tiv Style Soups – N2,000
Porridge Goat – N1,500
Bushmeat – N2,500
Drinks
Ginger Me (Mocktail) N1,500
Surprise Me (Cocktail) N2,500
The Porridge Goat was a definite favorite! Loved the seasoning of the dish and meat, also liked that the yam was not too soft but just right. The scent leaf was also very fresh and evident. Speaking of fresh, the pounded yam was amazing, smooth and tasty, shout out to the people who pounded o.
We tried an array of soups, apparently this is how our Tiv people in Benue State eat. It was also served with dry fish, which is optional, one can also pick chicken or goat meat. My top favorite soups were the Ewedu and another local soup which I can’t recall the name. I don’t usually like Ewedu but there was something different about this one!
The turkey was also well-seasoned. The potato fries were elevated thanks to the vegetable stir-fry that was served with it. We also had bushmeat which was yummy, loved that it was slightly tender and not too dry. My least favorite soup was the okra which tasted like there was yayji inside
As for drinks I prefered the “Surprise Me”Cocktail. The “Ginger Me” had garlic in it which I didn’t understand 🤷🏾♀️ for a drink . I believe this is optional though, should you order this, please ask them to hold the garlic.
This restaurant also has other things like Grilled Fish, Shawarma etc. The menu was not available when we visited. Coco_locorestaurant is on a soft opening and will fully open on May 1st, I hear there will be Palm Wine too 😉. Do stop by and let me know what you think.
