National Children’s Park and Zoo, Abuja

If you grew up in Abuja, you’ve probably visited this place at least once. Either on a school filed trip (excursion) or with family on Christmas or Easter 🤷🏾‍♀️

I had honestly forgotten about this place until I recently attended a picnic here and it brought back childhood memories.

What’s my verdict now?
This park is actually a really good spot to chill. It’s huge, offers more private spots and has a stunning water front view which in my opinion is the highlight of this place! It’s so peaceful!

This place is great for family time. There is a playground which is perfect for children. It’s also great for a picnic or date spot for all my couples out there 😉. It’s not as busy during the weekdays which makes for a great place to go relax, take in nature and clear you head! You can also go with your own food and drinks.

And as the holidays approach, here’s one place you can unwind. This especially since Millennium Park is still closed, I wonder when they’d open

As for the zoo aspect, well..
Now I saw animal like monkeys, horses, a donkey, a Buffalo, a Hyena. However these animals look a little malnourished, which is sad.

Location : A little after Asokoro, Along the Kubwa Expressway. It’s inside an Army Barrack. The Google Maps address is accurate

Fee: N400 entrance fee, I believe it’s a little cheaper for children but I can’t recall the fee

P.S. Camera Photoshoots are allowed, the park does ask that you pay an extra N1,000 in addition to the gate fee paid per head. There is no time limit on this btw which I feel is fair

The park opens from 8am to 6pm Daily

Did you visit this park as a child? Have you visited recently? What do you think?
