Idaw River, Enugu State

Idaw River is developing residential neighbourhood in the city of Enugu, and one of the most visited neighbourhood because of its Beautiful hills.  It is located in Enugu south local government area. The Area known as Idaw River is located along Agbani road and stretches from there to Uwani and and Ikirike Hill also Known and referred to as Mountain Idaw or Idaw River Hill. Idaw river was made popular by the first school in the area know as Idaw River Girls Secondary School.

Taking a ride around Idaw River, one might be expecting to see the River which gave the area its name, Although the area is said to have derived its name from a river know as Idaw, No river exist in Idaw currently. While a lot of stories have been told about how the area got its name, am yet confirm which is true and if truly Idaw actually Exist or still in Existence.

There are not much Schools here in Idaw River. The Main and major ones in the area are owned and managed by the state government and they incluses: Idaw River Girls Secondary School and Idaw River primary school. while Queen’s Model School is a privately owned Nursery and Primary School.

Getting Around Idaw River

Idaw River Enugu is connected by one major roads and few connecting and internal roads. The Major Road that connects Idaw River to other parts on Enugu is the Agbani Road while there are many internal road that connects the area to each other and out of the neighbourhood. One can only access the area using tricycle also known as Keke or a cab. Buts passing through agbani road dont go Idaw River but can only drop the person at the nearest bus stop to where he or she is going to.
