1. Chamarel waterfalls
The Chamarel falls are the most famous and recognized waterfalls in Mauritius and as such has always been a main attraction for tourists. Formed by the River St.Denis, the waterfalls of Chamarel have a height of 83m (272ft). The waterfalls are surrounded by lush vegetation of Black River Gorges. One can have a view of the waterfalls from both a lower and an upper viewpoint from the Black River National Park.

2. Alexandra waterfalls
Another example of the lush green Mauritius is the iconic Alexandra Falls. Located some 700 meters above the sea level, the incredible Alexandra Falls is found in the Black River Gorges National Park.
