PICNIC SPOTS IN ABUJA:

Abuja is filled with tons of places with ample grass and trees that are perfect for picnics! Here’s 6 picnic spots in the FCT.

1. National Children’s Park and Zoo

This is perhaps our top favorite spot. The park is very quiet and serene! It’s rarely crowded. There’s also a stunning waterfront view of Aso Rock. Entry costs N500 for adults and N300 for children. You can bring food and drinks from outside, there are no food kiosk in the park. You can also hold a party here, they offer discounts for larger groups. You have to come with your own mats. It’s located within Wu Bassey Barracks along the Asokoro Expressway. The Park closes at 6pm.

2. Sarius Palmetum Botanical Garden
It’s an absolutely stunning spot that has a botanical garden too! Picnic here costs N1,000 per head, this gives you access to the Botanical garden as well. You have to come with your own mats. The address is 3259 Ibrahim Babangida Blvd, Maitama 904101

3. Fresco Sandwich
Frescosandwich is a very cozy sandwich food truck located within Sarius Palmetum Garden. They have board games and picnic mats, all this you can gain access to as long as you buy food from them. You can rent the space out for events, birthdays, proposals, photo shoots, bridal shower etc and even bring your own food. Fee goes for as Low as N20,000. This spot is open till as late as 9pm.

4. Unity Fountain/ Millennium Park
Millennium Park has been closed since last year. However, the surrounding area of the park is a nice spot for picnics. Also right opposite is Unity Fountain, last time we were in the area we saw tons of people having picnics on the grass in the space. Access is free! However, note that protests often happen here. Unity Fountain is right opposite Transcorp.

5. Jabi Lake Park
This park offers a couple of spots that’ll work well for picnics. A lot goes on in the park so it’s often busy and not so quiet. Access here is free.

6. Amazon_kayak

While this spot is a kayaking place, they also have a cozy garden area for picnics. The space costs 50k and it comes with mats, sound, chairs and tables.
