Rivers state has nearly 100 kilometers of coastline with numerous rivers flowing from the hinterland into the Gulf. The State is a tourist heaven with its rich bio-diversity, stretching from the high rain forest, swamp forest, mangrove swamp and the coastal barrier reef. Rivers State, also known simply as Rivers, is one of the 36 states of Nigeria. 2. Finima Beach

4. Port Harcourt Zoo

Port Harcourt Zoo is a state owned zoological park in Port Harcourt city of Rivers State. The zoo which was established in 1974 by military governor Alfred Diete-Spiff was officially opened to the public on 1 October 1975. Located within Trans Amadi, in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State, Port Harcourt Zoo is one of the major tourist attractions in the city and is considered one of Nigeria’s leading conservation centres.

5. Finima Nature Park

Finima Nature Park is host to diverse bonny species of flora and fauna which is of great delight to tourist and nature lovers. It also serves as a field laboratory for intending researchers with a viable platform for environmental education and awareness. Finima Nature Park is divided into the Eastern and Western end with size 700 hectares and 300 hectares respectively. The Resource and visitors centre is located at the entrance of the Eastern end of the Park.
