Nestled within Vanern Residence lies a very cozy restaurant, Canela_abj that serves amazing food! They are open 24hrs too. I promised you more details on Canela so let’s hop right in!

As I said every dish was good, I did have favorites though. I especially loved the spicy chicken wings, Omo so good! The sauce was amazing! The crunch on the chicken perfect and the taste even better! I also enjoyed the prawn spring rolls but the chicken wings stole my heart. Now for the pasta, I liked the consistency of the sauce, enjoyed the dish too, I only wished it had more seasoning. I added some pepper and salt which sorta did the trick. The sweet and sour sauce was another favorite! They didn’t fall hand on this. The sauce was the right balance of sweet and sour, I also loved the abundance of pineapples. However the price threw me off, I honestly expected a bigger portion ??‍♀️. For the shrimp fried rice, I loved the abundance of shrimp in the dish.

Overall the food was tasty, everything was really good. Some dishes were just preferred over the others. Kudos to the chef, she’s a woman by the way, love to see it. Y’all know this is rare in most restaurants. The wait time for food could be a tad quicker though.

Canela_abj is quite intimate, perfect for date night! Their breakfast is also a hit! I tried the waffles and full English breakfast (N4,500) and Messy Waffles (N4,000) while staying at the hotel, it was so good! Breakfast options were served alongside tea/coffee, orange juice and a fruit bowl!
