National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Trains and Resettled 42 Youth In Enugu State

In her determination to continue in her task as the institutional mechanism created by the Nigerian government to tackle the problem of unemployment in Nigeria the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) IN Enugu State resettled twenty participants trained under the Community Based Training Scheme.

These 20 individuals from Obodo-Akpu Agbogugu, a rural community who were trained in Catering and Electrical installation were given equipments/tools to start operation immediately.

The Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, speaking through the State Coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Ezepue, said the training was not only designed to create skilled persons in the rural but the resettlement would enable them to become self-employed and further create employment and wealth and therefore reduce poverty.

The NDE further has also in Enugu state distributed start-up packs, tools and equipment under the School -On-Wheels Training Scheme to twenty two beneficiaries. The Director General said the Directorate will not relent in its bid to ensure that youths are gainfully engaged through self-employment.

Represented by the State Coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Ezepue, the Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, encouraged these youths who were trained in hair dressing, fashion designing, electrical installation, barbing and make-up, to ensure that the enthusiasm with which they have received the sarter packs will be carried into running successful businesses.
