Plateau State “The Home of Peace and Tourism” is the twelfth-largest state in Nigeria. Plateau With natural formations of rocks, hills and waterfalls, derived its name from the Jos Plateau and has a population of around 3.5 million people. Plateau State is located at North Central Zone of Nigeria with an area of 26,899 square kilometres. The state is named after the picturesque Jos Plateau, a mountainous area in the north of the state with captivating rock formations. Bare rocks are scattered across the grasslands, which cover the plateau.

Assop Waterfall
Assop Falls is located at the base of Plateau state, about 70 km along Jos-Kagoro road. The Assop River supplies the water which the rapids and falls use. It feeds the natural vegetation of grasslands that extend into the gallery forests. The site is an area of Guinea Savanna and the vegetation comprises forests surrounded by grasslands. The Waterfall occurs naturally at the bottom of the famous Hawan Kibo.

The Wildlife Safari Park
Jos wildlife park is one of the largest man made zoological gardens in the country and is home to a variety of animals ranging from monkeys, elephants, lions. The variety of wildlife and closeness to nature is one of the many reasons why tourists come from far and wide to visit the park.

The National Museum
Jos museum was built in 1952 by Bernard Fagg to aid research into pre historic Nigeria. Kurra Falls
The Kurra Falls lies to the east of Barking – Ladi along the Jos – Pankshin road. Wase Rock
Wase Rock is a massive dome shaped rocky inselberg found near Wase town in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State in central Nigeria. Standing alone in the Wase plains, it achieves a remarkable height of about 176 metres above the surface of the neighbouring surroundings and 426 metres above sea level.
Shere Hills

Pandam Game Reserve
Pandam Wildlife Park in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State is one of the largest game reserves in Nigeria. It was designated in 1972 by the then Military Governor of Benue-Plateau, Joseph Gomwalk, of blessed memory. The Park covers a land mass of about 224sq Km of untouched savanna wetlands and forest and is home to many species of wild animals, including antelopes, shy duikers, warthogs and monkeys living in the natural environment. Apart from these, hippopotamus and the rare African manatee are found inside the freshwater of Pandam Lake. It is indeed an interesting sight for tourists who would like to see the brilliantly colored parrots and other rare bird species in the park. The park has over the years provided a place for visitors to learn about the beauty of nature and enjoy the natural environment. Riyom rocks.
Riyom Rock is one of the state’s most astounding rock arrangements. It is found 25 kilometers southwest of Jos. Riyom rock is located in the Riyom community of Jos, it is a tourist destination where visitors can go rock climbing, observe nature or take pictures of the scenery.
Kahwang Rock Formation
Kahwang Rock Formation is a set of basalt rocks, located in Bangai village of Bachi District in Riyom Local Government of the state, the Kahwang rocks have received tourists from different parts of the state and country at large.
Rayfield Golf Club.
Established in 1913, The Rayfield Golf Club is one of the oldest golf course in the country. This is an 18 hole public golf course that attracts sports enthusiasts from far and wide.
