Volcanoes National Park Rwanda


The Volcanoes National Park, established in 1929 is one of the oldest national parks in Africa, the park lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda and home to the rare and endangered  Mountain Gorillas as well as the Golden Monkeys. Its also a home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains which are Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo, and spans 160 km2 covered in rainforest and bamboo. The Volcanoes National Park plays host to thousands of tourists who comes from different part of the world to take a glimpse of the park and its inhabitants.
