NATIVES AND GRILLS (Nativesandgrillabuja )
Where are my Gwarinpa people and lovers of native cuisine and grills. There’s a new restaurant in town.
I was invited to a private tasting at natives and grill, A cozy native restaurant located in Gwarinpa. As the name suggests, they serve our local delicacies and a few continental dishes. Mocktails and cocktails are also served here.
The space is pretty, I particularly loved the mix of colors and fancy lights. The sitting arrangements is quite simple and clean. Here are some of what I had
1). Grilled fish; #6000 comes with choice sides like rice, chips. Etc. I loved the fish, it was huge and well marinated. The peppered sauce that came with it was also very tasty (highly recommended).
2). Basmati fried rice; #2000: with shrimps attracts extra #1000. I loved the presentation of this meal and the huge chunks of sausages.
3). Plantain; 200, coleslaw #500, Irish potatoes #500; I loved that the Irish potatoes were the organic ones.
4). Pounded Yam and Banga soup: This was my absolute favorite and a must order. The banger was so savoury, I wish it came with starch though?.
5) Pineapple Screwdriver ( Cocktail). 2500. I loved that the alcohol was subtle
6). Barbecue chicken wings.(set of 6). #2500. comes with 2 sauces which I found really impressive.
7). Desserts ( ice cream) #2000.
In the end, my taste bud was thoroughly gratified. The staff were quite pleasant.
The restaurant opens officially on Friday and they’ll be running a 20% discount for people that come from our pages. They also do delivery around Abuja.
