Orchid House, Lagos

Orchid House Thai restaurant is a Thai-themed restaurant in Lagos which have three branches; Victoria Island, Ikeja, and Apapa. For the sake of this review, I will be writing about their Victoria Island establishment.

There is no oblivious signage at the location, the restaurant is hidden in plain sight, commuters may or may not notice it as they go by the street.

It’s a beautiful garden-like restaurant that also has a little store where they sell wares and Thai handicrafts.
For some tables, the decor team chose style over usefulness as it’s difficult for you to stretch your legs underneath because of its design.

The restaurant is ideal for lunch dates, family hangouts/reunions, birthdays (as they have options for large portions of meals where groups of friends can share) any scenario you can think of, you’re good to go.

Although the meals are quite expensive relating to the food portions; portions are small compared to the price tag.

The meals are delicious but I didn’t enjoy my prawns in mayonnaise spring rolls as it was very small (I had to order 4 pieces) and the flour wasn’t deeply fried; it wasn’t crunchy. The drinks are also well made.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, always at your beck and call. Waiting time for your meals is very short probably because I visited when there was no crowd.

I enjoyed my visit, the ambiance made me feel free and at home as it’s quiet and peaceful staying true to its name Orchid House.

I will recommend it if you want to try out Thai meals.
