Ancient Flavours Restaurant

ANCIENT FLAVOURS:

Ancientflavoursrestaurant has moved to a bigger space and we stopped by to check it out.

Their new space has a lovely indoor space, a bar, an outdoor lounge and an upstairs private area (slide 7) that can be rented out for as low as about N20k. We loved the overall rustic look of the place from the wooden tables, the stone walls and green plants. It was very on-brand
We had:
Big Protein Platter – N25,000
Chicken Stir Fry Sauce – N4,800
Ancient Flavour Mocktail – N3,500
Prince Charming – N3000
Watermelon Pot Mocktail
Ancient Flavour Pinacolada Special

The Big Protein Platter was definitely a hit! If you like meat or long throat, you’d love it! It’s enough to feed about 4 people. Our top favorites in the platter had to be the chicken & fish Suya, steak and Buffalo wings. Everything was mostly very well seasoned and went great together. The steak was tender and very flavorful, we loved it both with and without the sauce that came with it. Now the fish Suya left such an impression, this had to be one of the best we’ve had in a while. We also really enjoyed the sauce on the chicken wings, we were informed that all their sauces and seasoning is freshly made. And we actually got to see a little of their spice garden.

Our least favorite was the crispy wings, this was just okay. The other meat options on the platter simply outshone it. We were served chili fries which was quite interesting, however for next time we’ll be going for plain old fries, we much prefer this. The chicken stir Fry sauce was quite tasty, the veggies were very fresh and crunchy, I personally would have loved more chicken (call me long throat 🤷🏾‍♀️). The wait time for food could be faster.

We paired our food with mocktails and fresh fruit pots. We really like the idea behind the watermelon pot and pinacolada special. However we preferred the Ancient Flavour and Prince Charming Mocktail

The service was quite pleasant too.

LOCATION: No 6 Yalinga Street, Wuse 2
